Vista doesn't boot when i remove xp drive from computer

    I get this error message

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device"

Is there a simple way to fix this without having to reinstall vista? As i would like to do a dual boot with windows 7 now and am moving the old drive with xp on it to my media center.

I'm thinking XP contains the bootloader/os selection thing so when you take it out theres nothing bootable on the other hard drive.

This. You can probably use the vista disk/other bootable media like UBCD to create a new mba on your other drive.

Put Vista disk in, select "check for problems" or something very close to that and it'll fix it.
