    Question Online Backup

Has anyone ever heard of or used these people before?

300GB for £10 a month seems a little too good to be true

    Thanks

I *strongly* recommend you take a look at the Amazon S3 storage options - they work out an assload cheaper than that (though the initial backup can be more xpensive than the rest)

    Re: Online Backup

Does Carbonite handle network drives nicely? If so it's a good deal for me, if not then it means scripting to pull everything to a central location for backup, which is a faff.

Had a play with it a couple of years ago and the client seemed to integrate nicely with explorer , so I'd hope it would pick up network volumes. I'm sure they do a trial version so might be worth a try ?

We have used Carbonite in the past, however it does not support files over 3GB in size, also looking for UK hosted storage if possible, they have a product comparison on their website.

Yeah I spotted the trial - will give it a whirl and see how it compares with Jungledisk.

In the past Microsoft's flagship product was Windows NT

By default, Carbonite backs up everything in your Documents and Settings folder, including documents, photos, email and data files from applications, such as Quicken, Money, etc. Once a subscription is purchased, music is also added to the list. The default backup does not include programs, system files, temporary files, videos, or individual files greater than 4GB. You can, however, manually add any of these to your Carbonite backup.

Can't believe no one has mentioned it but getdropbox.com its fantastic. Folder lives on your computer and whatever you drop in there is sync'd online.
