Firstly, is it easy to install a copy of UNIX or Linux with Vista 64-bit? I have a 1TB drive in my system now so space shouldn't be an issue. I have partitioned it into two 500GB drives. What I would like to do is repartition the second partitions into two partitions: 300GB and 200GB and use the 200GB partition for Linux (or UNIX). I assume that 200GB is plenty of disk space for Linux.
Assuming that is reasonably easy to do, which version of (free) Linux or UNIX would you guys recommend? I am increasingly encountering Redhat Linux and Solaris at work so would prefer one of these if they are free. I understand that Fedora is essentially Redhat and is free. Also, do Sun do a free version of Solaris and would that be a better option than Linux?
