    Dual Monitor Issues:(

Hey having a bit of a problem with my dual display. I have a 8800gtx and basiclaly have a dvi monitor on one output and a vga projector on another output. When i first installed the projector it allowed me to use Independant view but after disconnecting the projector andreconnecting it that option is no there and the settings tab in the display options does not show a second monitor anymore only my main DVI monitor.
Anyone know what the problem is?
I can still use Nvidia to clone the display but i want independant view.
I updated the GFX drivers to the latest and it then allowed me to do it again but then same problem again when i disconnect the projector.
So anyone know whats the problem and how to fix it?

    Thanks

    Re: Dual Monitor Issues:(

nVidia is absolutely crap as it stands with anything but a single screen, meaning that for proper use you're best off with some third party software. Take a look at Ultramon http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/ which is very handy for us NV users with multiple screens and gives you options that you don't get with the drivers.
    Moo.

As far as I know for the independent view to work, you have to keep the projector connected (not necessary active) from power-on to you get into windows.

I don't think there is any fix for this. If I remember correctly even Intel and AMD(ATi) cards have the same problem. Either you don't disconnect the projector or you reboot the system.

You need to plug it in and reboot the computer. Nvidia control panel is crap when it comes to dual screen. As stated above, use Ultramon
