    Checkdisk problem on booting.

    I have Windows XP with SP2 on my system which has 2 HDD's. 1 of them is partitioned into C:,D: and E:
    Whenever I boot this pc it says . 'starting chkdsk on E:' . I have tried manually running chkdsk /f/r on this partition but it still has this problem.

    What could be the problem and how do I resolve it ?

    You could force the dirty bit off on the disk using autochk (I think the windows help files have information on its switches).

    Another trick I've found that works is to use the chkdsk version found in recovery mode on your Windows CD (boot from it, hit 'R' at the appropriate point - chkdsk's switches are slightly different though, be warned). For some reason it sometimes fixes whatever's causing that problem.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
