I quite like the idea of an application been able to bring its thumbnail view up for an alert.
Rather than just flashing which has been the norm since NT

I'm not convinced as to the "don't run it as your main OS" argument. Obviously make sure everything is backed up, but I ran it for a week or 2 and managed to find a whole chunk of bugs that I wouldn't have found were I not running it as my main OS.
In the end I restored my backed up Vista image as there were a couple of dealbreakers (both related to DRM being incompatible), but I submitted a whole raft of bugs and so feel I've contributed to the public beta.
Remember to prepare for reinstalling in August.
Still took me three minutes of digging.
Start -> Control Panel -> type "power" into the search box since no obvious button yields the right section -> Power Options -> Change Plan Settings -> Change advanced power settings
Why isn't a start button setting available from start button right click -> Properties?
You think? Here, try something for me.
Set Vista to "focus follows mouse" mode, without using a third party utility of questionable quality. Not "focus follows mouse with autoraise", just focus.
Here, it's..... 4 clicks. System -> Preferences -> Windows -> tick the box -> Close
Your lack of google skills? As maybe. *chortle*
Anyway, they've moved it to a more sensible place on 7, so really no point in getting too upset. right click on start->properties.
Much of the UI changes in 7 are like that - evolutionary in the sense of "why didn't they do that in the first place". That said, Vista was far
more configurable than XP.
