Windows Live Antivirus CD
Does anyone know of anything like this? My brother in law has infested his PC with adware/viruses AGAIN, and I'd prefer to have something I can send him.
I've looked at building a BartPE image with all the antivirus plugins, but is there anything available already/better suited to the job?
Has anyone done this?
Cheers...
Re: Windows Live Antivirus CD
Might be worth taking a look at http://www.f-secure.com/linux-weblog...-300-released/ - it's not a Windows CD, but it's a good bootable antivirus solution (which will update from either the internet or USB key)
Re: Windows Live Antivirus CD
Not a bootable CD, but this is fairly straightforward:
Download the following from Sophos:
http://www.sophos.com/tools/sav32sfx.exe
http://www.sophos.com/downloads/ide/web_ides.zip
Extract the first one in to a folder and then extract the contents of the 2nd in to the same folder. Burn the contents of this folder to a CD.
On booting the PC, just after the BIOS post screen, repeatedly press F8 and then choose to boot in to " Safe Mode with command prompt".
At the command prompt (appears after you login) change to the CD drive and run the following command:
sav32cli -remove -DI -P=C:\sophlog.txt

it is updateable using the bultin updator.

Tried the UBCD4Win?
I use it all the time when stuff goes wrong.
