    Looking for Verisign security certificate

    Hi guys.

A friend has got a netbook and is doing my head in because she refuses to google things and keeps coming to me as she 'cant' do it herself. Anyway, trying to get her enrolled on the University network (see help page here: http://www.york.ac.uk/services/cserv...slinuxnew.html)

    and the problem is here:

See, on the linpus system that was preinstalled on her acer aspire one, there is the /etc/ directory but no /etc/ssl (only /etc/ssh). So I need somewhere to get this certificate from...

If anybody has them and could either .tar or .zip them up for me (in particular the one above) then that would be lovely. I might just put the Ubuntu Netbook Remix on it for her, I've heard good things about that.

I don't suppose you'd have any joy if you emailed CompSci using the link at the bottom of that page would you? Also it might be worth getting her to join the York LUG - I've been lurking on their list for a number of years now and they certainly seem to like helping people get to know their new OS (plus it saves you some hassle)

Ooh what's the LUG? Linux user group? Hehe. I've just emailed computing services, I rang them earlier and the guy who answered didn't really have a clue, just said on Windows machines you join the NAS network and download an auto-configuration client. Wasn't really sure about linux at all. I'm sure I will get it sorted as many friends are competent compscis, just thought I could bypass some hard work if someone had the certificates to hand .
