    quick linux question

    Hello

We're getting a load of redhat servers from a vendor, and the refresh rate has been set too high for our KVM, so when it boots, the screen goes blank. One solution is to lug an old CRT around with us, boot on that and change the resolution, but thats a bit of a pain..

Is there a boot-time option of forcing a low-res mode? In windows, you can hold F8 and choose 'VGA Mode' to get round this - anything similar in windows?

    Thanks guys

1-time: on the GRUB screen, press "e" to edit the current selection. go to the line with all the parameters on it, press "e" again, and delete the word "rhgb". hit enter to go back to grub, and b to boot the kernel.

persistent: edit /etc/sysconfig/init and set GRAPHICAL to "no"
