    Where's my partition ?

Hi all - have just built a new computer, installed Vista Home Premium 64 for the first time. When Installing i created 3 partitions, a 12gb, a 250 gb and a 330 gb. from within Vista I can see and use the 12 and 250 gig drives - but for the life of me I cant track down the 330gig

Can anyone shed any light on this. I did have a few issues installing vista (see my other thread) but it is up and running fine now.

    Help appreciated

    Paul

Are you sure that you acutally created a partition out of the used space. Because if you didn't then it wouldn't show at all. Take a look at Disk Management under Computer Management. And see if it's there.

Right click on Computer and select Manage. Then on the left hand side menu expand Storage and select Disk Management. It should look something like this...

    [
    (click to make bigger)

OK, I've had a look and it would appear that I've only created 2 partitions (god knows how!) - see screen below:

Do i use disk manager to create a new simple volume from the unused space, or do I need to do anything else ?

    Help appreciated.

As I thought It happens all the time. Just right click on the unallocated and create a new partition. Simple as.

Problem was probably somewhere between the chair and the keyboard
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

ignoring Yamangman for a while, (though he's prolly right).... this is a perfect thread.

Bloke with problem, comes onto HEXUS forums, words the problem perfectly.
Bloke with solution helps him sort it.
Another bloke helps him some more.
