I must admit, I have some trouble seeing how this is considered so expensive
for business users.
Even the Prof version works out at about £65 per app if they only use 3 apps and get the upgrade, or about £95 per app for a full retail version. (i.e. about £240 and £290 respectively).
The Standard version, even in full retail, is about £60 per app for four apps. If they're business users and don't have enough of a justification for £60/app, then they really don't need it, do they? And even if they don't use one, like Powerpoint, it's
still only £80 per app, and they could be using it for several years. If they can't afford that, point them at OpenOffice. If they won't afford it, tell them not to be such tight gits.
If we were talking about Adobe wanting £500 for Photoshop, even for home use, I'd agree. But a couple of hundred quid for a class-leading business office suite is petty cash for any real business.
