    Windows 7 Media center

    Hi,

Just wondering has anyone tried and used Media Center in Win7 builds beyond 7000? I tried the 7000 build, and whilst it had some much needed features, it sure wasnt fit for day to day consumption!

    Thanks

    Hello,
a few days ago microsoft released a optional update for build 7000 public beta which fixes some bugs with media centre.
you will see it when you use windows update if you have build 7000.
i havent tryed media centre on windows 7 thou.

if you already have already installed that update then well no i havent tryed any builds later than 7000.

Yup, tried the update for build 7000, not much better. Shame, as the MCE app functions were pretty useful.

For me it all seams codec related.... I click pause, and it actually takes about 4 seconds to actually pause.

Bit more for myself, codecs are one issue, but so is the TV/guide, and coming out of standby is no longer as reassuring as Vista SP1.

I do like the way the resume is handled thou, that is when u stop watching a vid, it remebers very well the posistion, seams to instantly fly there too for me!

But there does seam to be a lot of beta look n feal about it.

Thats precisely the stuff I like about it. Looks like its finally getting some finishing touches polishing, instead of having to use MediaControl to do these things.

Luckily the box its on only runs MCE, so I just recovered the Vista SP1 HD image and away it goes.
