How can I get Windows Photo Gallery to open just one picture?

Long ago I was ranting about this... time passes and my In Laws get a new PC, and here I am sat at it.. and Sair's mum has enabled something called "Windows LIVE Photo Gallery"

I don't even know if my Vista 64 Ultimate has it.. I've never seen it listed. (and I'm not home so can't check)

But it works just like XP used too.....

It is NOT Windows Photo Gallery... it is Windows LIVE Photo Gallery.

It's one of the Windows Live options, so it should work fine with Vista too.

When I run that installer, it doesn't show as one of the options?

And HOW did Sair's parents get this? They have Vista Home and I don't think they've downloaded owt...

Windows Live stuff comes down with automatic updates when it's set to the most promiscuous mode (default).

It arrives on your PC one day, usually a few days after your son/daughter tells you that their friends have a newer version of MSN than them, so you update your version (so they can be in the "in crowd" too) and get attacked by a whole slew of useless LIVE bilge MS think you need to have because you stupidly forgot to uncheck four thousand boxes.

Usefully on my machine in the installer it lists it as Photo Gallery, but as Windows Live Photo Gallery when installed. Rather confusing given the name of the old program.
