    Which Distro For This?

    Hello,

I am currently building a LAB from a old Dell GX240 and am wondering if someone could point me to a good Linux Distro that would be good for mounting USB hard discs and scanning them using clamav or similar.

Basically i want to be able to get a clients machine take the HDD out mount it in a external caddie and then scan it for potential viruses.

    I currently have Knoppix downloaded.

    Many Thanks
    Richard

You could use... pretty much any distro modern enough to support mounting USB disks. So that's pretty much all of them.

So something like Ubuntu 8.10 would do the job nicely? Which version would u suggest Ubuntu or Kubuntu?

Depends what you prefer tbh, Ubuntu will default to Gnome and Kubuntu will be KDE
