    Windows Weardness

    Ok, so I got home, turned on the computer, logged in and everything was gone. Documents (were still in the drives, but it was locating to the stanard folder, not D:\Documents, desktop, all settings, media library, everything - just like I had a new login.
    So I logged out, to find it was still my only log in - I went back in, and ran system restore for the most recent point.

    This messiage appeared;

    , and everything is back to normal.

    Odd or what?

    Re: Windows Weardness

    I have seen this sorta thing in XP pro in a domain where the user has logged in and got a new desktop etc the same as above. When I have investicated it creates a user folder as temp instead of the users name. Must say I have never figured out why it does thins but on reboot it goes back to normal.

    System restor does hook in very heavily though so I wouldn't be surprised if it broke it would cause your prob. I tend to switch it off by practise.
