    Smoothwall 2

    http://www.smoothwall.org/

Smoothwall 2 Final is out - anyone using it?

I'm currently using Smoothwall 1 and it's suiting my needs perfectly - very reliable etc.

Anyone know if it's easy enough to upgrade? Or is it not really worth it?

    Thanks

    Josh

I have a usb ( ancient frog modem ) for my smoothy and its fine.

Clarkconnect has a lot more features ( smoothwall is just the router/firewall and nothing else )

I have been using Smothwall 2 for a few months now & it is a great toy.

I also have a USB frog (grrrrrrr) after I put a decent power supply in my smoothwall box it worked a treat. I had originaly built the box with a old 120 watt power supply it was not enough, then I put in 300 watt supply & never looked back.

Oh & hello I am new here.

    heya wing

Anyone, I just installed SW2, I take it the VPN service that is offered is only a tunnel type (server to server)?. Unlike SME where individual clients can connect?

You "frog" owners count yourselves lucky - just try getting a Conexant chipset USB modem working (especially one made by Xoom.)
