That's right.
You've installed it via the Wubi Installer which is quite a wise idea if you're unsure about keeping it etc (in fact to be honest i've been running Ubuntu via Wubi, for 6 months straight now... i really should install it with its own file system....).
However it really still is a fully independent operating system, and it's basically irrelevant what other operating systems are on the same machine when you are up and about within Ubuntu.
The best thing to do when setting it up (and this goes for all operating systems in principle) is set up your LAN or internet connection over a wire first of all to check that everything works, and then move to the wireless aspect.
In terms of wireless, Ubuntu comes with loads of drivers for wireless chips however not all.
What system is it for? Maybe i can tell you where the driver is, or at worst how to set up using ndiswrapper.
This is the system that I have installed it on to except I swapped the Q6600 and put it into my rig in my sig. This now has a P4 2.8 CPU in it now. I only use this for surfing and doing some part time course work.

Thank's for the help, Cus
You could always give portabuntu a try: http://portableubuntu.sourceforge.ne...on=screenshots
lets you try it out as a windows application and run it from a memory stick, i'm downloading it as we speak.
Hello,
just use the network manager in the top panel in the right hand panel.
left click it once and all the avaliable networks should appear. then all you do is type in the wireless passcode and click on ok.
that is assuming ubuntu has wireless drivers for your card.
I will save that link in case I cannot sort this problem and I will give it a try, thanks
Cus
OK lodore, I will give that a go
Edit- Well it is running fine on a wired connection just now so I will just stick with that just now. The only reason I was using wireless was because I got the router with the broadband deal. It lay in the box unused for a couple of months as my PC is next to my cable modem. I only hooked it up to see how fast the connection was with it and as there was no difference in speeds I just kept it set up.
did you test the wireless connection?
atm i cant use wireless on fedora since the lastest network manager broke it lol
