    Does such software exist?

At the moment i've been using freenas for my NAS but i've been looking into getting a tv tuner.
The problem with this is i don't want may main pc on all the time as it costs lots and would prefer to leave my freenas box on whihc is already on.
What i want to know is there such software (even if i have to replace Freenas) that allows me to install a TV Tuner in a it and allow it to record whislt my pc can be left off yet i want my pc to be able to set it to redord from my main pc and to watch things from the TV tuner on it.
I feel i may be asking to much but i though it can't hurt to ask

Why didn't i think of that. I went through my head thinking of all the PVR software.

Looks good with the backend and frontend.
Just two things that are worrying me though...
    1. It looks complicated to set up. Never really used Linux before when you have to type in commands

    2. Myth TV front ends looks like it has to be ran as an OS instead of just an application which i'd prefer.

I seem to recall that Jo did a pretty comprehensive setup guide a year or so back... Have a root through the forums for threads started by Directhex that include "media" in the title or something.

EDIT - as for a Windows based MythTV frontend (I guess when you refer to an application you mean a Windows app, if not let me know and I can find other stuffs for you) take a look at http://www.mythpvr.com/mythtv/window...nd-player.html

Had a look but couldn't see the guide.

That just what i mean though as a windows APP. MythTV front end is ok but looks a bit old and you can't really watch live tv.
