    Debian Exim mail server help

    Hey peeps,

I`ve been running my mail server for a couple of years and all is great. The only problem I have though is that every person who has an email account has to have a linux user account which isnt the most secure of ways to do things.

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to set up a mail server that has users that arent linux accounts. i`d also like to have some of the users access to web space as well.

    Is this doable?

I use LDAP to do this, but that's probably overkill for your scenario. In the general case, I'd suggest reading the EXIM4 book - it should explain how to do it: http://www.uit.co.uk/exim-book

I was looking at that book but wasnt sure of the level of info it gives.

I`ll check at borders over the weekend and see if they have it.

Does LDAP allow u to create users that have webspace and email ?

I use virtual mailboxes, but on a Postfix install - not sure if Eximm offers the same facilities - as DHex says - have a look at the documentation.
