    Bluray + Vista Media Centre

Is there a way of integrating these?

I have powerDVD HD or something that came with the drive - is there a way letting this work with/inside media centre? Or is there another program that I need to get for this to work?
Anyone had any success or experiences doing this?

    Thanks

Have a look at the bottom of this page - it has a plug-in that lets Power DVD work within Vista Media Centre - it worked for me but I'm quite new to this HTPC/HD malarkey.

Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre is an alternative option to PowerDVD and integrates straight into Media Centre when you install it. No messing about.

I also highly recommend buying AnyDVD HD to remove all the region locks, BD+, HDCP etc. Makes like a lot easier

Yep, TMT integrates straight in, unless youhave the ASUS custom version from the Xonar HDAV soundcard. Regular TMT 2 and TMT3 integrate perfectly.

AnyDVD HD is a very handy piece of kit - I am HDCP kit from start to finish, but it's worth getting for region code removal.

Re: Bluray + Vista Media Centre

The latest PowerDVD 9 includes a plug-in for Media Center, and it works reasonably well albeit a bit clunky.

Australian Pioneer drives shipped with the Media Center add-in with PowerDVD 7.3 in the box, but my UK drive didn't. PowerDVD 9 is quite a nice upgrade, but it lacks HD-DVD support so you have to keep PowerDVD 7.3 installed alongside to retain HD-DVD compatibility.

Slight differences in the GUI, but nothing major. It has better native codec support.

Re: Bluray + Vista Media Centre

Cheers for that article Funk, was quite interesting. May be thinking of getting a Bluray drive for my shuttle media PC soon, so its good to know that there are options for integrating playback into VMC. Whether W7MC will get put on is, well, going to be determined by price...
