I use DW MX 2004 all the time for webediting. Has good support for CSS, (x)html and scripting languages (coldfusion, PHP etc..). However, it costs a alot of money for the license (something like £359 at last check)!
What kinda web design are you looking to do? What are you hoping to be able to create?

Imho, dreamweaver is a good piece of software to start on. When you develop knowledge and experience in certain mark-up/programming languages you eventually start using notepad or a text editor which highlights syntax.
But yah, dreamweaver is a good way to go, just steer clear of fronpage
Dreamweaver is good. Fireworks also. Has an hour long tutorial built in. Expensive though
ok so its easy to learn on. you can get the educational one for 99.99 so will probably get that one. would it be worth trying the 30 day free trail first
