Without any third party software? Net send.

That said... if you want to copy/paste URLs it's not going to cut it - why not look at opening a .txt file on the remote machine and pasting your URL into that?

i found that process tedious so i wondered if there was such a program that would make my life easier..
i know about net send but that just plain sucks.. and can't copy from that

The problem seems to be that you're excluding the obvious tools to do the job - email and IM are ideal for this. I'm not sure how you're wanting to transfer the links without using either IM or email. I guess you could use psexec to open a browser on the remote machine, but this could be a faff too.

Re: send messages between computers on a lan?

What about winpopup? Very simple protocol for sending messages to other PCs on the lan. On the comand line:
    Code:
    net send hostname <message>
These days most firewalls block it due to spam, but it should work fine on an internal lan, just unblock the correct ports.

i meant not using im like msn/aim because you have to have an account for those... i found something though
    http://borgchat.softnews.ro/news.php

    seems to work nicely

i checked out winpopup but it's shareware.. it's pretty much what i was looking for though

I've used popchat before. Pretty basic.
