Windows XP install on AMD 760G RAID 0

    Hi all,

Having major issues here with installing Windows XP SP3 on a new Asus M3A76-CM with the AMD 760G chipset. There is built-in software RAID available, supposedly, and I've set up a RAID 0 array to install on. Unfortunately Windows XP won't recognise any hard drives being attached.

Since there's no floppy drive connector on the board I can't use the F6 method to install the RAID driver. I've tried slipstreaming what I think are the drivers (in the RAID7xx folder) from the motherboard CD, but still no joy. I also tried altering the txtsetup.oem file as per these instructions (post #8), but still nothing.

I haven't got many ideas left, so any suggestions would be welcomed.

    Thanks,

    Leggie

I had a similar problem a while back. In the end, I bought a USB floppy drive. I only used it the once but it was only £15 and compared to how much time I'd wasted it seemed like a bargain. I think it was a Sony.
