how to build the Atlas Folder?

    Hi All,
    New member here.
I follow the link "... you can find detailed instructions on how to do so over in our dedicated distributed computing forum." from HEXUS.net News page.

But I did not see the instructions and steps. Would anyone please post the detailed instructions or refer me to the right page? Thanks a lot.

    Best,
    8gpus

    Hi 1stRaven,

Can the 4 GTX295's be recognized by the OS (windows, I presume) as 8 GPU's? I tend to build a system to drive 8 projectors/monitors from one PC box. Thanks a lot.

Yes it can, if you had 4 PCI-E slots, but you wouldn't be able to SLi all 4 and have 8 displays running, they would have to be independent from each other i think.

Re: how to build the Atlas Folder?

    Hi TAKTAK,
I won't do any SLI which only support one DVI output. I would like to drive 8 projectors/monitors. Plus, GTX295 only has one SLI ribbon slot.
So the OS or NVIDIA control panel has no trouble seeing and configuring all 8 GPU's, right?
    Thanks.

If it's only for driving 8 monitors, would 2 4850x2s for £140 be more effective with their 4 dvi outs, rather than 4 cards for £340 each?

    Hi PeterStoba,
My intension is to give each screen portion (commanded by one projector/monitor) the maximum rendering power that I can find. I surely have thought about using just 2 cards with dual DVI outputs and 4 additional MATROX dual-head to go... And I hope this kind of dual card solution will serve me longer.

This would give you 1 GPU per 2 montiors so to speak, each dual GPU card has 4 outputs, to which 4 monitors can be connected, all for less than the cost of 1 295

Thanks, PeterStoba. It's my first time see a 4850. 2 4850 would a wonderful general rendering solution supporting 8 DVI outputs.

    1GB for £148.30 + £3.62 quidco = £144.68
    2GB for £188.30 + £4.67 quidco = £183.63

    Hurry though!
