    fat32 + NTFS

got a new SATA maxtor drive today (120gB) already formatted in NTFS. My other two IDE drives are Fat 32. Will this cause any probs in Win XP? the OS boots of one of the Fat 32 drives.

    Thanks

Shouldn't cause any problems as far as I can see. NTFS is still (supposedly) the better filing system.

No problems as such, but NTFS is better...

ntfs is journalled, secure, more efficient, supports larger partitions, and makes your breath smell minty fresh. it is not, however, supported at all by non-NT versions of windows, and only for reading under linux.

    windows nt5 (2k, xp, 2k3) supports FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS seamlessly.
