Yup, Opera is the only (imo) curent oppositions IE & Firefox have. Been my browser of choice for years.

    Re: Web browser

Worth keeping FF for those browser-sniffing sites that won't play with other than IE & FF (GMX was one, so I had to install FF for that, but now OK in Opera).

I've used Opera 10 Alpha since it came out and it's been good.

I wouldn't touch Safari: too insecure and, apparently, stores all sort of info in strange places.

If you liked Chrome, check out Iron - basically Chrome without the data tracking carp.

I actually just use IE for that. There are just as many sites taht will only work with IE, that will work with just IE and FF, so you may as well use IE for that. Much of microsoft.com for instance

    Re: Web browser

I haven't used IE for ages (in spite of having v8) and have it blocked in the firewall.

Tried a few others: Safari about a year ago, Chrome, Orca (damned thing reset default browser and messed up things).

BTW, there's a nice little utility called SetBrowser from

    http://www.pc-tools.net/win32/setbrowser/

it warns about its age, so might not work; also has a PC scan button on it but that's not compulsory.

Opera is lovely, but I miss too many FF extensions.

    Re: Web browser

I tried safari a little while back and I really didn't like it at all. It just didn't seem right running on windows because it has that distinctive 'mac' skin.

    Re: Web browser

Somehow I quite like Safari. I think it renders fonts and pages more..."prettily" than FF/IE/Opera.

Curious as to what the Chrome "data tracking crap" is. Never heard of it before. Can someone explain more? Point me in the right direction?
