    Unhappy missing retten.exe??

guys, i just got a new hard drive, i installed windows xp fine. with my previous hard drive (came with complete system) had a cd for the drivers.

its also a recover cd, but after i installed my new hard drive, the cd says

'retten.exe' file is missing or moved.
can someone find me this file and tell me where to put it.
    thank you

retten is German for rescue so I suppose that this is indicating that whatever hidden partition was on the hard drive that the rescue disk came with is no longer there. Most rescue disks work on the basis that there is a hidden partition on the hard drive with the installation files for windows on it or a ghost image of the hard drive, I think this is now gone as you have reinstalled the hard drive and negated your rescue function.

I have also encountered the same problem when trying to restore my computer to factory settings. I've been advised to do this as my computer is running extremely slow for a Pentium 4. But with this 'missing retten.exe file missing' are can't. How can I get round this?

The trouble with Medion is you have to install the Application & support cd before you can use the Recovery cd, if you don't it will delete your Retten.ex so many people are having this problem. With Advent etc the Recovery cd ask you for more disk, Dont know why it's the other way around it's confusing or is it a money making scheme?
