    Any1 tries SP2 for winXP

    MS have just released it to the public in beta form on the MS site. Its 250 odd meg and I have downloaded it but not installed it yet.

    Has anyone tried to install it yet , any bad results?

    i was too scared by the closed beta commentry on the windowsbeta.microsoft.com newsgroups, so i've decided to wait for release

    Yeah couple of people on another forum that I mod on have tried it and aren't that impressed, I am gonna wait for official release.

    Installed it at the weekend, all seems to be fine. IEs popup blocker is a blessing and a pain. Takes a minute to silence the security panel from insisting that the Firewall be enabled. Other than that business as normal, havent had any problems (Touch Wood)

    I've downloaded it, haven't tried it yet.

    I noticed that some people were saying it clashed with Nortons AV. That doesn't bother me, I don't use that thing, but I think I'll wait for official release in May anyway, as everything's running just fine atm, no point in risking things. Typing in format c: when I don't have to really doesn't make me happy.

    floppybootstomp is right, if it aint broke dont fix it. I personally had a few gripes and was on the verge of a reinstall, so i took the chance that SP2 rc1 might sort them out, low and behold all is fine again.
