Best Audio Production / Editing Software ?

    Hi Folks

I'm trying to find out whats the best music editing software around that will be perfect for when my band records each of their parts and so i can mix it all together into a 1 or 2 minute song , which will lalso although me to adjust the vocals , instruments and length of each part.

    Thanks in advance , Steven.

My personal preference is Adobe Audition, which used to be known as CoolEdit Pro (from Syntrillium). Superb package - but not cheap.

Cubase Sx is probably what you need, although, as Saracen said, Adobe Audition would do as well.

    Cubase is nice
Logic Audio (I think you need the platinum one for audio rather than midi...) is ok

Saracen hit the nail on the head with Adobe Audition. Brilliant piece of software, but as he said, not cheap. Worth every penny, though, if you're serious about using it. You can have a 30 day trial from the adobe site iirc.

If you want to program music (not programming, of course, but electronically produce tracks, etc). Have a look for Reason and if you're after a bit of fun - Fruity Loops. Reason is quite expensive, too, though.

I had a bit of experience with Logic Audio Platinum a couple of years ago, and it's a cracking piece of software. However, Audition is my chosen piece of software... CoolEditPro was a better name, though
