Notepad++, Visual Web Developer? I'm not sure if they strictly count as a 'web design tool' but i use them all the time with any web dev work i do. Perhaps you need to be more specific? What exactly is it your looking for?
Main PC : Abit IP35-Pro | Q6600 G0 @ 3GHz | 4x1GB Crucial Ballistix 8500 | MSI N460 GTX HAWX | 1 x Crucial M4 128GB SSD | Antec 182 | Corsair HX620 | Dell 2407WFP-HC | Windows 10 x64

As my HTML is limited to href and p tags I'm looking for a simple GUI type way of building a simple brochure-ware site.
There are many! Everything mentioned below is free...
Text Editors and API's
Intype: http://intype.info/home/index.php
A very good, simple text editor very much like TextMate for Mac you can use all the same visual themes as TextMate including "Brilliance Black"...
Aptana: http://aptana.com/
Fully-fledged web coding API, packed with features, debugging, FTP and even cloud intergration. (can somtimes feel like bloatware...)
Server Side Stuff
FileZilla: http://filezilla-project.org/
Complete FTP solution.
PuTTY: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/
SSH Client.
Content Management Software
Joomla: http://www.joomla.org/
Very good CMS quite user-friendly and also pretty flexible.
E107: http://e107.org/news.php
Very, very easy to setup and run CMS (a good place to start maybe).
Graphic Design tools
GIMP: http://www.gimp.org/
Open-Source image manipulation program simular to photoshop.
Paint.NET: http://www.getpaint.net/
Slightly easier to use than GIMP.
Other Handy Stuff
Web Dev plugin for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60
Absolutly brilliant and incredibly useful! I Dont think I could live without it...
Window Resizer (plugin for Firefox): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1985
Solves resolution Issues.
BrowserShots: http://browsershots.org/
Helps with browser and OS consistancy.
Theres many more but these are the stuff I've used and can recommend![]()

Wow Smithy...I would press the Thanks button if I could see it.
I think you may have seriously over-estimated my abilities.
I'm just looking for something that has a GUI, that means I can drag, drop, cut copy paste and add text. I have used Dreamweaver briefly, but I was fairly drunk at the time. I'd be looking for something similar.
I think what your looking for is a basic "What you see is what you get" editor then..here are a few i've used in the past before I learnt HTML properly.
Note that technically speaking, ALL of these will produce absolutely rubbish HTML code..(although most likely better than dreamweavers..)this probably won't matter to you but its worth noting

Photoshop has a "Save for Web" function that creates a html page using sliced images. Probably much better than a newbie attempt at dreamweaver, Its commonly used for stuff like email newsletters or brochures and has a good visual impact.
Although very simple the code would be better than anything generated by dreamweaver and you can add links through image hotspots within photoshop.
If you looking to create a simple website, using content management software is a good place to start its less complicated than it sounds just upload the package to a server using an FTP progam and follow the simple steps in the installation/![]()

Well for a brochure website, most brochure websites are just flash sites...

I have used the photoshop save for web function and then modified the subsequent code to obtain the finish I wanted.
As Amaya has already been mentioned, also have a look at Nvu (search Nvu in google should be top result)Both do the job you are looking for

Microsoft do a Visual Studio Express Web Developer edition. It's interface is not unsimiliar to Frontpage, unfortunately, but it would not only do exactly what you want but would also give you a more powerful development environment if you wanted to delve into your HTML and work out what it's doing (I use Visual Studio at work in a completely non-GUI way and find it very adept as an IDE). Plus Microsoft's conversion from GUI to HTML is definitely getting better.

Thanks everyone !
I really appreciate all the links. I'll follow them up over the weekend.
Please note that I will not be using Flash, or any blink tags...Despite this it will probably still be awful !
I just tried Aptana myself as it looked very promising but i was sorely disapointed. Most noticably was the speed, it was very slow and unweildy, i suspect due to it being Java based. I also had a number of problems installing the packages, PHP refused to intstall in the standard directory (this could be a issue with windows 7 compatibility) and then worse of all the code window showed many signs of corruption, none of the code was legible and the background was black (same colour as the text lol) making it useless. Changing the colour scheme did nothing so i can only assume it was a bug (again possible win 7 compatibiity).
It's a shame because i was actually looking forward to using it, mainly as a shortcut for my web dev work but tbh i think i will go back to trusty Notepad++ and forgo the shiney extras!
