hey commander f3ar - i'll let you in on a little secret on HEXUS:

you have to realise most of the people on HEXUS sit around all day working on computers in their office jobs, then go home and play on their PC's, upgrading, fiddling, making it have moar powah an all that. they've been isolated from the real world (and human contact) for years or even decades. they don't know how to communicate to people nicely.

they are GEEKS.

they like having a bit of fun now and again, unfortunately they jump on the newbies straight away, instead of bringing them up to speed on how the nuances of the forum operate.

as long as you don't take anything personally and DON'T react in a hostile way if someone does a strange post, then you might like this place.

calling people 'gay' is just childish/immature/a sign that you yourself are gay and afraid to admit it.

everyone is suspicious of the new folk because of the free scan postage thingy, everyone assumes they're just after that.

what i suggest you do is have a click around on the various buttons around the place, read what they say and learn what they do. then theres a 'nice' bloke called TAKTAK (the one with the picard picture) he has a few links in his signature that everyone should read - especialy the bit about being nice to other forum members once thats done and you're slightly more familiar with this forum, you should be very welcome to contribute in a slightly more grown up way.

in case you're wondering I hit things with a big hammer and work with disabled/old people - i get the human contact needed to make me a nicer person - one of the reasons i decided to take up the hexus.welcomer position.
