Question Excel - how to get percentages in a stacked chart?

    FWIW, using Office 2007

Have stacked data, and need to replace the original values with percentages of the entire column, WITHOUT using a percentage stacked column chart (since it would make all columns the same height)

threw a total in, and calculated percentages to see if could use them, but no go

    ideas?
One can never stop saying Thank You

Dont use the percentage function. Do it manually for each cell for example =(B1/E1)*100
and make the chart exactly the same as you have already. In your axis make maximum 100 and in steps of 25 and as your axis title write Percent.

Easiest way I've found to display the information, is to include the % table next door as the Category (X) axis label (set under Source Data), this puts the 3 % values underneath their relevant product.

    (\___/) (\___/) (\___/) (\___/) (\___/) (\___/) (\___/)
    (='.'=) (='.'=) (='.'=) (='.'=) (='.'=) (='.'=) (='.'=)
    (")_(") (")_(") (")_(") (")_(") (")_(") (")_(") (")_(")

I tried this yesterday before I posted, but couldn't work it out in Office 2007......
Office 2003 etc allows label changes.

Solution, albeit requiring an add-in, was to use the XY Chart Labeler which turns out to work for any chart. Sweet stuff.

xAmritx: couldn't use your method since it makes the Axis maximum 100, whereas the data has to have original scale (eg 1000 - 45000) but the percentages within each column data piece.
