    Registry - Classes_Root - loads of junk

A PC I am looking at has a ton of junk in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT - rather than just proper file extensions it has all sorts of junk, see here:

I am trying to run Windows Easy Transfer Tool, and looking at the xml error file which it produces when it tries to run I think it's related to this.

I tried CCleaner on the registry and it found and cleaned up nearly 200 entries, however, the junk still persists - any tips besides manual removal? - And if it comes down to that, how do I know what's legitimate and what's junk?

Hopefully you can see from the scroll bar in the pics the size of the problem!

Ahh... the registry. The one thing in Windows that makes absolutely NO sense. "Let's centralise everyone into a single database in a centralised location so that lazy developers who forget to clean up all their stuff on uninstall can accomulate junk in it, after all, no one user will look at the registry right?"

Just leave it, it won't affect performance in any way.
