Sorry, Find out what mouse you have, then boot from the windows XP CD and do a recovery or a restore of the mouse driver

Um, AOL makes a habbit of wrecking machines, but not mouse drivers.

I'm with hex - it doesn't make sense, perhaps the issue just coincided with the AOL uninstall?

Just use XP system restore to put the state of the system back to what it was pre-uninstall of AOL and that will be a fair indicator of whether the mouse is fubar or not.

Go into safe mode and uninstall the mouse driver (however many instances of it there may be) and reboot back to normal mode.

    That might work.
