Any way to revert to SP2 on a laptop that came loaded with SP3?

I am having some compatibility issues with certain software, and I'm almost certain it has to do with the fact that I'm using SP3 (every SP2 PC I've tried the software with runs it fine). I've looked on the MS Support website, and I found a way to revert to SP2 if your PC originally had SP2 by going through the add/remove programs. Problem is, this laptop came freshly loaded with SP3. Is there any way to get SP2 while leaving all my data intact?

    Thanks.

Aside from the carpetbomb+pray approach of extracting the SP2 files and just overwriting everything, perhaps try Process Monitor if the application(s) crash when they try to use a particular file? Perhaps also try disabling DEP in boot.ini, but I think that was added in SP2.

If you paid for it, contact the developers of Certain Software(tm) and demand the software be patched to work with OSes made after the stone age. Software should work around the OS, not the other way around. Also, only very poorly coded software really breaks with Windows upgrades, so you should really reconsider whether you should continue using it at all.

There is no actual method for this. You would need to backup, format, and re-install windows with SP2.

You can do it if SP3 was installed on top of the OS, but not if it was slipstreamed into the install.
