PowerDVD but you need to pay for it although can be had for relatively cheap.

TBH, what's wrong with VLC?

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll try one, and will track down an OEM version of the other!
I've never really been a fan of the way it handles interlacing with DVDs, and with other areas, the way it never likes to remember it's settings. I just wanted to trry something more 'dedicated' to the job!TBH, what's wrong with VLC?
Ahh right, fair enough. +1 for MPC then - I've not used it myself but I hear it's good.
Rather like VLC myself - but agreed about the settings side.

Just something for you to try:
To save settings in VLC, try running it as admin then change whatever settings you want and they should stick. I've not tried with VLC myself but it's worked for other programs - it's the way UAC works and programs are still adapting.
Thanks for the tip - I'll have a go when I get back onto my (Windows) PC.![]()
This is Windows, don't forget![]()
I know when you try to edit file association in 7zip the same thing happens but that's understandable since it has to edit system reg hives.
Just to update, I still couldn't get the settings to 'stick' in VLC... but on a more positive note, I'm finding MPC:HC quite good.
Still might pick up a cheap copy of PowerVDV to see how they compare.
Thanks again.![]()
A bit late, but I really like K-lite codex pack. It can integrate with WMP, or any other player, and is free. Best of all it lets you do all your own matrix's, and has bars to show the levels of all the different channels
