Live Onecare

Anyone used it? seems to be getting good reviews which is surprising considering its a MS product
Never really been a fan of AV products, rule of thumb being sensible browsing keeps you safe, worked fine for me so far, no virus's for the past 5 years.
However I seem to have amassed quite a collection of files on my HDD's and don't really want to loose any of them.
I know its unlikely that a virus would harm the files but for the price of AV software these days I am thinking better safe than sorry.
Im also looking at G Data's AV software which also gets good reviews but the MS product covers 3 PC's which would be good for me.

Re: Live Onecare

Only issue I can see is that each machine has to be activated, what if I reinstall Windows without unisntalling the software, will I have issues when I come to install it again on the fresh install?

Re: Live Onecare

As far as I'm aware Windows Live OneCare will begin discontinuing sales this summer, it's being replaced by Microsoft® Security Essentials, which will be free.

Re: Live Onecare

Ahh ok, G Data has just made it to the top of my list then , unless there's other recommendations?
