A Referral was returned from the server!

I've downloaded an zip file with an exe in it, when I try to run said exe (extracted) it returns the error 'A referral was returned from the server' this happens on several exe files, files which run fine for my colleague.

He gets a prompt - do you want to allow or deny etc, I just get the referral message.

Both of us are on Vista Business, SP2, seems very odd.

Possibly connected to it - when I copy files from mapped drives I get the message 'do you want to move or copy files from this zone' which is slightly annoying but somehow related I feel.

    Any ideas anyone?!

Just looked at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap and Zones, the settings are the same for both my colleague and I.

I believe I've sorted this via local group policy.

    Start - Run - GPEdit.msc

I then went to Computer Configuration - Security Settings - Local Policies - Security Options.

    Towards the bottom:

    Quote:
User Account Control: Only elevate executables that are signed and validated
This was enabled, on my colleagues machine it was disabled. I disabled it and boom it works
