Audio file on web - How to do it?

    Audio file on Web

I have an .wav audio file that I have recorded.

And now I would like to make a web site where people could listen to the file.

    How could do this?

It would also be nice with an scroll bar like in Media Player, so people could scroll through the audio file.

    Thanks Coolone

you could use Windows Movie Maker to make a simple video with the audio as the background, perhaps just some text for the video (fairly sure WMM lets you do this) and then upload it to youtube. Then just embed the video in your own page.

You could upload it to a hosting site like imagehost.org if you just wanted people to download it - you could just give people the link to it.

Is Windows Movie Maker a free program or part of Windows?

I have Windows 7 RC now.

I think I will make it as an flash file and than a Webpage.

Maybe there is a free flash Konverter?

Re: Audio file on web - How to do it?

Windows Movie Maker was in XP and Vista, I assume it is part of W7 as well.

I hvae no idea about creating flash files. I think you generally create a player and then feed it the compressed stream, rather than converting the video to a flash file. Again, uploading to YouTube would be the easiest way to do this. Or any other video sharing site.

edit thanks watercooled, makes sense that it has moved to be part of Live.

Re: Audio file on web - How to do it?

Google for <embed> tag help and Wav to MP3 conversion software, and that'll tell you everything you need to know. The basis of it is that you need to embed the sound file in the web page, and you need to shrink it to MP3 first since WAV files are massive.

Re: Audio file on web - How to do it?

In theory you shouldn't need to do a proper embed - a link straight to the .mp3 (or whatever) file should make the users default player either play it in the browser or download and then open it.
