Issues with HD playback in Windows 7

All my HD content seems to be heavily pixelated. No idea why, and I'm using the exact same settings as my Vista install before (and my Vista laptop plays HD content fine).

I've googled this issue, and it appears to be a common issue. The only fix I can find is to install VLC and change it's Video Output to DirectX or OpenGL. Unfortunately, when I try this it does resolve the issue, but the quality of the video isn't as good.

I'm currently using CCCP, with Media Player Classic HomeCinema with CoreAVC.

Specs are in sig, and OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    K-lite codec pack
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I don't think it's the codecs to be honest. Because I tried the VLC 'workaround' and the issue disappeared, but like I said the quality of the video was well appalling.

Why are you using coreavc? Your graphics card supports DXVA so why not use it? CoreAVC is brilliant for single core PCs that do not have graphics cards with DXVA - I used to use it on my old single core A64 PC and it played back 1080p great... but you do not fit into this category. If you really want software decoding, ffdshow has better quality... but there is no reason to use software decoding

I propose you uninstall CCCP and coreavc. Then try the latest version of MPC-HC by itself (has inbuilt DXVA decoders) and select the EVR renderer.

What happens if you buy cyberlink for windows 7? Will the same issues persist?

I use CoreAVC because of CUDA. I recently experienced some weird slowdowns, so I switched CoreAVC and that fixed it right up.

I unistalled CoreAVC and CCCP. Tried the latest x64 build of MPC-HC with EVR renderer. And the pixelation does disappear. But the picture still isn't clear enough for me liking. But thank you anyway

Thanks, I don't get any pixelation with the HD content playing back in WMP12 - but like above the picture is still looking "dirty" and murky-ish. Strange eh.

    Thank you again guys

No idea, but I don't intend to waste my money.

If the picture is not clear then maybe it is your source. What is the source?

Have you tried decoding with ffdshow. It is a good quality software decoder.
