That's the way I would look at it, if you are on XP jump to 7, if you are on Vista, stay put as there really isn't anything that I would class as essential in 7 over Vista.

Re: is there any worth in getting win7?

I liked XP, but having got used to Vista Ult 64, I like it even better. It is stable, never had a BSOD, and all my games play on it....BF series, C&C series, Sup Com and a few others.
Drivers are no problem, in fact, I like the HP printer drivers, because I just get working drivers without all the other bloat that can come normally.
I did try one of the 'trial' versions of W7 from MS but was not overly impressed....wasn't that stable, and other niggles.
But, I've paid Tesco for a discount version of W7 Home, and for £45 I reckon it's a good deal, as I expect this 'final' version will be better that the one I tried out.
As long as I can play games, and it doesn't fall over every 5 minutes like W98 or ME, then I don't care what the OS is called....
