    Firewall configuration.

    Well, I've used Comodo and Outpost but, have been unable to configure them to not respond to echo requests.

    Can some kind knowledgeable person tell me how? I'm rubbish at this kind of thing.

    I've not used Comodo and Outpost before, but are you still also using the built-in Windows firewall? There is an option there to allow ICMP Echo Requests.

    You need to add a global rule.

    Something like this..

    Block ICMP in from IP any to IP any where ICMP message is Echo Request
