    Encryption software for memory stick

I'm looking for some 'free' Encryption software for my memory stick that does not require you to have admin rights on the PC you want to read/write from

The stick came with http://www.truecrypt.org/ which is actually quite good, but you do need to have admin rights on the PC for you to view/edit your files.

    any recommendations?

I have used BestCrypt in the past as it works cross platform on linux and windows. Currently I just use crypto loopbacks directly in linux at the moment.

I generally use True Crypt myself, but I've also used CryptainerLE in the past. The only limiting factor with that is you're constrained to 25mb vaults.

Yes, bit of a problem if yoiu are using the stick on a computer that doesn't have Truecrypt already installed (if it is installed, you don't need admin rights - only if you are using the portable app on the stick itself)

If that is a problem, you might want to consider something like GPGP (bit clunky in Windows, but it does work) or there are secure memory sticks that have their own protection built in

    https://www.ironkey.com/

Available here - not cheap though...

Re: Encryption software for memory stick

Kingston have some software that can do this for you. It's what we use at work. Can't remember what it is called, something like TravelSafe, but I think that's hardware based and not software.

To be honest, I'd just use TrueCrypt Portable or something like that.

But that's the problem - you need admin rights to run it from the USB stick.
