Windows (Critical) Updates

Hi there,

Am planning to reformat my computet soon to accomodate some new parts and I was wondering about the windows update files that I have downloaded. Is there a place (probably hidden deep within the windows directory) where these update files are held? And if so, can they be migrated to a new system?

Its just that I'm on dial-up and I dont really want to have to download 25+ mbs again!

i don't believe the downloads are cached

you can ask microsoft for a (100% free) update cd tho, at http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp

the WUTemp folder is where they are stored temporarily when you download them. I've got a whole bunch of them so i don't have to go on the Internet to update windows

You can download full sets of updates for most modern MS platforms here in basic exe form to store as you wish.
