    Adobe getplus downloader

Came down this morning and one the home pc firefox had a window open asking me to update adobe. So updated it! I then foudn it was using a new downloader called getplus. Found it this was some thing from adobe so removed it from add/remove programs. But when i search for it i can still see the prefetch files for getplus. Should I just leave these?

    Re: Adobe getplus downloader

I think the answer would be yes, prefetch files are just used to speed up loading of programs or something..

    Re: Adobe getplus downloader

I had the same thinh a couple of days ago with Adobe; I do wish that Flash plugins were'nt necessary as they're so bloated - as are Java and Javascript.

ISTR that the Prefetch files are 'cleaned out' after about 3 days (in XP). I don't know if entries can cause Windows to look for files that don't exist any more.

As I try a lot of software, every week or two I delete NTOSBOOT-*.pf and I also keep a copy of layout.ini in an adjacent folder and copy it across to overwrite the big one in Prefetch. It has only:

    [ O p t i m a l L a y o u t F i l e ]

    V e r s i o n = 1

in it. The files get gradually rebuilt after a few boots.
