Windows 7 or WPF Enhanced Applications

    Hi Folks,

I have been thinking about starting a wee thread about apps that showcase either WPF or Windows 7 enhancements. Win32 will be around for some time to come, but it would be nice to find out about those that at least utilise some of the improvements of the newer Windows OSs.

I know Channel 9 have a wee list here of WPF apps: http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/WPF/ApplicationPortfolio/

Also I know recent updates to iTunes and ImgBurn improve support for the Win7 taskbar.

    Any additions are welcome.

WPF != new OS features though - in fact (as you hint at) all the new features are exposed via unmanaged interfaces (COM) in Windows 7. I do wonder when MS will actually attempt to implement a managed API for Windows (rather than layering .NET on Win32/COM as is now) but given how much focus they have on performance i can't see managed code being particularly appealing in the forseeable future..

Re: Windows 7 or WPF Enhanced Applications

I use the built in progress bar a lot as I use drag and drop with my Sony Walkman. Hence why I was glad when ImgBurn Updated. I am no fan of iTunes, but I am happy to see support there too.

Now if Opera could add tab management and progress bar for downloads I'd be a very happy man.
