Windows for a "new" build....

Well my timing is pretty bad...my will power failed and I should be building a new PC over the weekend. Trouble is I have win7 on pre-order and the only other copy of windows I have is XP which is OEM and tied to my current build.

Would it be that bad if I used the Win XP OEM install for the 20 or so days in the mean time (up till I go on holiday) and when I get back I can wipe it and stick my Win 7 HP on?

Failing that I can just not bother with the build and have some bits sitting there...staring at me and do it after I get Win 7...or other ideas perhaps?

(I'd like to be able to play GTA4 and Fallout 3.)

Slap the XP OEM on and just not activate it, then when you get Windows 7 just stick that on and off you go

gaming is what i have a console for! run the RC if you can, or load up ubuntu and kick the gta habbit for a month

you will have to do a fresh install of windows once your preordered windows arrives but it means you can play your games for now.

it has a key integrated.

The trial client needs to activate with a KMS server within 10 days in order to continue working without hourly reboots.
The key is just the KMS client key (all Enterprise clients use the same key, so it's not an issue if leaked, in fact they are all publically documented) - it talks to an internal KMS server in order to receive (and maintain) activation.
The KMS server is the one that communicates with the online license servers at our end, and has its own (private, per customer) KMS key.

Win7 RC 64 bit it is...well I kinda forgot I had it. It'll do until I get my proper retail Home Premium version

It's a) what I have at hand, b) a temporary solution and c) I thought you could no longer get any Win7 versions and had to wait for the retail version.
