    Vista Service Pack 2

Fired up my laptop today and the update I downloaded is Vista SP2.

Gonna try it out now...hopefully there are no bad things with it. Anyone updated to SP2 know what it's all about (good and bad things)?

    Re: Vista Service Pack 2

I've been running it since it was out.
It didn't break anything and I didn't have anything that needed fixing before, so it just works, no real difference to me.

Release notes can be found here.

Get a slipstreamed ISO if at all possible. Alot cleaner and safer in my opinion.

Hmm...all completed and er....I see no difference (for what I use it for).

Ahh well interesting adventure waiting for the lappy to finish updating/rebooting/updating.

BTW Singh...you're comment on slipstream iso...erm..what now?

Singh's comment is only valid for a full install, not a sevice pack update.

why would you want to reinstall if there is nothing wrong

I'm actually really bad for doing that; Service Packs, major software upgrades (CS3>CS4 etc)...

However, when it popped up on the PC at work I couldn't wipe it so just ran the update. Nothing changed that I could see, still stable and fast so I'm happy with it.

Because SPs are major system updates. I prefer to err on the side of caution with major updates like that.

    Re: Vista Service Pack 2

before any major installs i simply create a system image and if it goes wrong i restore it.

I didnt have any problems with SP2 thou.
