Hey guys
Sure you've been asked a hundred times already, but could someone tell me what the best program to monitor PC temps is?
Many thanks for your help!

Everest. Use the stressing function without turning it on (if you know what I mean!). There is a 30day(?) free trial of the ultimate edition.

I use this - if it's still current ! I may even fork out for the new one.
I assume you mean registration rather than 'turning on' ?
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.

Sorry, I'm almost illiterate. I meant open up the stress function to get the pretty graphs but don't fire up the stress function unless you want to run it.
My trial expired; I'll go to the free version that you posted thanks; I think it shoul dhave most of the functionality. Didn't realise there was a shareware version.
Some nice lightweight apps:
CoreTemp
GPU-Z
HWMonitor
Also RealTemp is a good one (think that's Intel only though).
Thanks Guys
Got the program, it's pretty neat.
Couple pf questions though. I don't overclock or anything like that, so do I need to worry about temps? and also, according to everest, the GPU fan doesn't appear to be running which I don't think is correct as I've opened the case and had a look, and it is + the GPU temp is stable at around 55 C. Is it just that the programme is unable to detect it?
Thanks for your help!
Not really but it's good to check them anyway to see how hot your CPU is running/see if the cooler is doing its job properly. Run a stress test like Intel Burn Test for a few minutes and see how hot it gets - that's probably the hottest it's likely to get.
About your GPU fan: some gfx card coolers report fan speed as 0% when it's spinning slowly (my 4850's non-reference cooler does it) but fire up something like furmark and it should rise. If not then it's just not reading it correctly.
I can't seem to get the Intel Burn Test to run, I'm using windows 7 do you think that's the problem?
Err no shouldn't be it works OK for me. How far do you get exactly?
I try to open the Intel Burn Test exe, but it just says that the linpack binaries were not detected, even though they are next to them in the folder.
Strange. So you just extracted everything as is and tried to run the exe?
Yep. I even deleted all of the files, and then downloaded an extracted again just in case and the same thing happened?! I alo tried dropping the 32 bit binary file into the exe, but that didn't work either.
If I try to open the 32 bit binary, it brings up a command box with:
'Input Data or Print Help'
That wouldn't be it would it?
TRy right clicking and run as administrator.
(If that doesn't work then you might have to install this first)
