    Win 7 HP arrived

    Hi all,

2 days prior to launch, Win 7 Home Premium dropped onto my doormat from PC world. Guess they were trying t avoid any postal strikes.

Shame I haven't built the computer thats going to run it yet!

Just to put everyone at their ease - this was one of the bargain pre-orders from July (£44.99), that was originally for Win7E prior to it being axed. And yes, it is the full retail version, with both 32bit and 64bit disk. No "upgrade" version anywhere.

    Re: Win 7 HP arrived

I am getting the free upgrade as I bought a hp laptop start of July, no money for the shipping has been taken yet and no sign of the disc either.

    Re: Win 7 HP arrived

Just got in from work and my HP edition was waiting for me on the door mat. Fair play PCworld, considering I had an email this morning telling me that it was booked in for dispatch on Wednesday. Like Maverick though my new build isn't ready yet - good job its pay day on Friday.

I bought a HP laptop a few months ago - should I have had a leaflet in the box, or do you apply with serial number or something?

It's actually been running windows 7 for a while (my company is a microsoft partner/ has action pack subscripion with windows 7 disks).

    Re: Win 7 HP arrived

Aye, got mine yesterday also which is handy, as I can install it on my Dad's new build, then activate it with his serial when I see him next - he got his yesterday too.

I was pretty surprised, as the way I read the last PC World email was that it would be despatched on the 22nd and would arrive 5-7 days after, which would have been a bit of a joke.
